All the Buildings in New York
Aussie James Gulliver Hancock is attempting to draw every buildings in New York. Now while my first reaction was: this is gonna be like Sufjan Stevens doing an album for every state, I’m being led on. I quickly decided it doesn’t much matter because not only are the illustrations thoroughly enjoyable with an element of neighborhood pride, but homeboy’s making some progress.
The illustration medium—from pen sketches to full-color, to sharpie—and subject matter—from the empire state building to ambiguous fire escapes— also vary pretty significantly. My favorite diversion recently was a series of snow-bedecked cars.
