Serge and the Not-So-Secret Source
Working at a magazine where you’re bombarded (willingly, of course) by beautiful images of spaces conceived on unimaginable budgets can be a bummer for your real person apartment decorating plans. An interior designer friend recently pointed out that he’s stumped when peers ask for good, insidery decor sources. We both shop at Ikea, CB2 or the Brooklyn Flea. Hardly secret. The companies that we regularly work with are beyond inaccessible when it comes to our own lives, so I’m always thrilled when having an ear constantly to the ground in the world of interior design comes in handy.
I’ve become a lover of Serge Mouille lighting, which pops up over and over in AD homes. Most recently in Ellen’s awesome ping-pong foyer.

And in this image, which has got to hold some record for most reblogged/pinned.

While I will likely never own one of these guys, I did find a nice little substitute on sale (20% off) at West Elm for $199. Not a bad look at all.
